Anyone with a Fuji S 2 Pro have ideas of best brands, largest capacity that will work/ maximum speed that will work?
I have a lot of photo experience but would like to know that the flash I buy will work, as I’ve heard of a lot of problems with many NOT WORKING, and have no use for something that will not work, and costs a lot too. Any help will be appreciated. Also any other tips/tricks/shortcuts/issues that are common to the S 2 Pro would be of interest.
Just wondering what the largest CF Card or Microdrive anyone has been able to use SUCCESSFULLY in the FUJI S2PRO Digital Camera?
Speed and Type/Brand would also be helpful.
At 30 Mb a frame, I want to get the largest capacity I can to be able to travel light.

Where did you hear the memory cards are not working?

Usually it is due to operator error or not using the proper work-flow to prevent card or file corruption.

The CF cards that your fine camera uses is nearly bulletproof. I have personally had mine go through both a wash and drying in my laundry. That was a few years ago and it still works just fine. I saw one that was caught in an explosion which destroyed a Nikon D200, but the memory card was still readable and had recorded the demise of the camera.

As long as you do not buy your CF cards from eBay, you will be fine. The cost of 4 GB CF cards right now is under $13 each, so the cost should not put you off.

Unless your camera supports UDMA (my guess it does not), you don’t need to buy any card faster than 133x although you will find that a good 80x CF card will work just fine as long as you do not use the “machine-gun” method of shooting your assignments, then no matter what speed the R/W speed is of the card, you will fill the cameras buffer long before you begin having any problem with write times.

Tips/tricks/shortcuts … just shoot your new DSLR the same way you would using any camera, 35 mm, medium format or large. Use the light meter and use it to determine the proper shutter speed and aperture to produce a perfect exposure.

Issues? Not too many .. except it does not use the state of the art Li-ion battery, common with most pro cameras. Enjoy the sensor which is said to produce the best skin colours of any current DSLR and is why it is preferred by both wedding and portrait photographers.

You will have to call the Fujifilm help line to determine if CF cards 4 GB or larger can be used. For now, just buy a nice 2 GB card and get started with it (I have six 2 GB CF cards)

In the end, you may have to call the Fujifilm help line, 800.800.FUJI
